About ARPA VictoriaARPA VIC, the Victorian branch of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA), is the only organization in Victoria specifically established to represent the interests of the Occupational Rehabilitation (OR) industry in this State. It was incorporated in March 1986 under the name ARPS, with the name changed to VCORP in 1993 and ARPA VIC in 2005 when it became a member of ARPA National. Its membership consists of OR provider companies and individuals registered as OR providers with the Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA), and with other compensation schemes including Comcare and the Transport Accident Commission. It is estimated that the ARPA VIC membership accounts for at least 85% of the OR work performed within the Victorian WorkCover scheme and other compensation schemes. Membership includes small, medium and large sized OR providers that are private, Government and insurer owned entities. ARPA VIC and its members believe that appropriate Occupational Rehabilitation intervention is key to the achievement of cost effective and durable return to work outcomes for injured individuals, whether this is with the pre-injury employer or a new employer. ARPA VIC is recognized as the OR industry body by the VWA and other compensation authorities, and has representatives on VWA standing committees such as the WorkCover Advisory Committee, the Rehabilitation and Compensation Working Group, the RTW Working Group, the OR Standards Committee and the OR Provider Performance Improvement Committee. ARPA VIC continues to achieve significant outcomes for its members through its ongoing involvement in negotiations and discussions with relevant compensable and Government bodies, as well as with key stakeholder groups.
